IHRAH

Ihram from Miqat Point / Entering the State of Sacredness
1. Entering the State of Ihram:
The first step of the pilgrimage (Hajj or Umrah) is entering the state of Ihram, a sacred state of purity and devotion. This is done at specific locations called Miqat, designated for pilgrims based on their travel routes.

For Men: They wear two simple, unstitched white garments—one wrapped around the lower body and the other draped over the upper body.
For Women: They wear modest, loose-fitting clothing that covers their entire body except for the face and hands, avoiding any adornment.
2. Reciting the Talbiyah:
Once in Ihram, pilgrims recite the Talbiyah, an important declaration of submission to Allah:

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْك، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْك، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْك، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Transliteration:
Labbayka Allaahumma Labbayk, Labbayka La Shareeka Laka Labbayk. Innal Hamda Wan-ni'mata Laka Wal-Mulk, La Shareeka Lak.

Translation:
"Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Truly, all praise, blessings, and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner."

Pilgrims continue to recite the Talbiyah frequently until they reach the Kaaba.

3. Restrictions During Ihram:
While in the state of Ihram, pilgrims must follow specific prohibitions, including:
✅ No cutting hair or nails
✅ No wearing perfume or scented products
✅ No hunting or harming animals
✅ No engaging in marital relations
✅ No arguing or using offensive language
✅ No covering the face (for men) or wearing stitched clothing (for men)

Observing these rules helps pilgrims maintain spiritual purity and focus on their devotion to Allah.
